D. Eleinne Basa
A Classically trained artist, Eleinne began painting at the young age of 8. Her early training still influences her and she still remembers painting plein air in oils as early as age 9.
Eleinne’s landscapes allure the viewer to move into the work with their radiant light and luminescent qualities reminiscent of the early Luminists and American Tonalists. She is inspired by painters like Thomas Moran, George Inness and is continually striving to achieve a certain timelessness to her work. A professional and full time artist since 2004, Eleinne participates in several national shows and have been invited to participate in prestigious events such as the Maynard Dixon Country show in 2009. She has also been invited to show her works at the National Arts Club and the Salmagundi Club in New York and, in 2012 at the Autry National Center as part of the 101st Gold Medal Show of the California Art Club where she received an Art of the West Award of Excellence. In 2012, she won the $15,000 Grand Prize of the 1st Annual Plein Air Salon, hosted by Plein Air Magazine.
