Artist’s Bio
David Marty has made the Pacific Northwest his home for over thirty years. David’s artistic career began with graphic design and illustration. After owning his own successful design business, his love of painting resurfaced, of which he has increasingly become known for is rural landscapes.
David’s oil paintings are delightfully representational, but softened to allow the viewer to have more opportunity to interact and use their imagination, thereby making them a part of the creative process.
David has been featured in American Art Collector and Western Art Collector magazines and as an “Artist to Watch” in Southwest Art Magazine. His work has also been used on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Celebrity Apprentice.
David attended Art Center College of Design and Biola University on California. He has participated in workshops with the Plein-Air Painters of America and Scottsdale Artists School and has studied with Scott Christensen , Matt Smith, John Budacin and George Strickland.
David’s work has been juried into Oil Painters of America, C.M. Russell Art Auction, National Western Art Auction, Salon International and Arts for the Parks Top 100 exhibits. David is a member of Oil Painters of America and American Impressionist Society.
David and his wife reside in Edmonds, Washington, have five children, and three grandchildren.
